As most of you probably know by now we love taking Kaiser to all the different Dog Parks in San Diego County. It’s been a great way to socialize our Mini Schnauzer and he’s been lucky to live in the most dog friendly city in America.
Little Italy’s dog park may not be as well known as say Balboa Park or Dog Beach, but it’s a great place to let your pooch run around. It is a multi-use park so sometimes there are other activities like soccer games going on, and unless your dog is really disciplined probably not the best time to let your dog run off leash. It’s a big enough field though for humans and canines to share in the space together.
Even if the park has too much going on for dogs that day Little Italy is a great place to walk around with your dog. There are doggy waste bags on the street corners and the local businesses usually have water bowls out for any thirsty dog.

There is a guy with a silver colored pitbull who recently attacked a mini- schnauzer at this park. He also attacked the owner of the Schnauzer when the owner tried to protect his dog. He then ran off.
Be careful with your dogs!
Sad to know people like that own dogs and can be so irresponsible.

Amici Park is not a dog park. In fact signs clearly state dogs must remain on leash. I have witnessed many dog fights at the park including one that also injured another dog owner. I do not bring my dog to this park.
What could be a great place for my kids to ride bikes, play on the playground and play games in the grass has been taken over by dogs. I have had dogs chase my children as they attempted to ride bikes in the park. Also watch where you step as many owners don’t clean up after their dogs.
It would be great to have a park in Little Italy that could be used for parties, volleyball games and other park activities. Unfortunately it’s an unofficial dog park.
