Kaiser had his teeth brushed at home for the first time last weekend. We’ve had the vet and the groomers brush them before, but this was the first time on our own. Since he needs to have his teeth brushed more frequently we decided to buy a dog tooth brush kit from PetCo. Overall, Kaiser did very well, was patient, and didn’t seem to mind the taste.
There are many options when it comes to the actual brushes, and we found that the simple brush that the vet gave us worked the best. It’s recommended to brush your schnauzer’s teeth daily. If that seems like a lot, try to start on a weekly basis. Schnauzers are known to develop harmful bacteria that can cause health problems later on in life. My mom person tried to brush my teeth once & she ended up with a mouth full of chicken flavored toothpaste herself. Now she leaves it to the professionals!

Kaiser did very well sitting still and letting you brush his teeth!
Thanks for the reminder!! we were much better in brushing WallE’s teeth more often we first got him, now we have gotten lazy.

In addition to regular brushing our Vet recommended we give Oskar Hill’s Prescription Diet t/d as a treats.

We found that his teeth and breath were greatly improved.

Nice video, right to the point and pleasant music. Kaiser’s teeth look great! We have found that feeding Natural Choice Nutro Nuggets “Small Bites” Lamb Meal and Rice Formula has reduced plaque build up on our 4 Schnauzers along with regular brushing. We take our troop to the Vet every two years for teeth cleaning instead of every year now.
