Hello fellow GoSchnauzer readers and thanks for letting Elliot join in on the blogging fun. I know Kaiser and Elliot will be the best of blogging friends. Hopefully this Washington, DC Schnauzer mutt can provide that East Coast perspective, add to the pooch humor and pick up some tips from Kaiser and his fellow online friends.

Since Elliot is a new addition to the family and immediately took to sleeping on our pillow shams (read: expensive), our first purchase was a dog bed. I secretly wanted our first purchase to be an NFL jersey (our dog is super manly, despite his favorite toy being a teddy bear) but this was more practical… in more ways than one.

Sleeping Schnauzer

Elliot came from the shelter house trained but he still rolls in the grass and likes to sniff ant farms (oh, pulling ants out of a schnauzer beard could be a whole other blog entry!) so we wanted something that was easy to clean, durable and, of course, it had to look cool.

I found an awesome dog bed that is affordable, easy to clean, looks cool, and helps textiles stay out of landfills. I literally pulled clothes out of our GoodWill bag and the bed was made. A duvet also makes for easy travel. Is it just me, or is it next to impossible to find a dog bed for under $30? Almost none of them were duvets that I could throw in the wash. Let us know what dog beds you guys like and why. And check out Molly Mutt to shop for fashionable and environmentally friendly dog beds!
