Last Friday night I took Kaiser out to do his business before going to bed. About a minute into walking out, our Schnauzer went into a sneezing fit. It was pretty funny at first, watching him sneezing over and over, but it wouldn’t stop. Standing there, watching him with leash in hand, I counted over 25 sneezes in a row. We walked a bit further, he continued to keep sneezing. He did his business and we headed back inside.

While inside Kaiser continued his sneezing fit and finally mellowed out when he laid down to sleep. So, we think it’s over and he just sniffed something funny, but we wake up Saturday morning and Kaiser starts sneezing again. He was sneezing so hard that we felt really sorry for him. He really was not comfortable and could not relax. I did some research online about sneezing dogs, and a couple different forums mentioned that dogs can get things stuck up their nose rather easily which will cause sneezing. We decided to get our Schnauzer checked out to be safe. We took him to the vet at noon, and of course by the time he’s ready to be seen by our vet, Kaiser’s sneezes seem over.

The veterinarian gave Kaiser a quick nose inspection, nothing’s there. So $50 later, we’re told that he sneezing would stop, it did. The doctor also said that he might start doing the reverse and would kind of like sniffle through his nose loudly. That’s what Kaiser did on Sunday. On Monday everything was back to normal, just a weekend cold we guess.
