Kaiser had his first experience at Dog Beach yesterday. Pulling into the parking lot in Ocean Beach, with his head hanging out the window, Kaiser began to sniff the air and wag his tail. Getting out of the car we walked up onto the beach and then took off his leash. Kaiser ran around the beach meeting all the other dogs and ran into the water up to his ankles.
We had a good time watching him run around and make friends, but the most fun was watching him swim for the first time. Kaiser got the courage to walk a little further out into the water but wouldn’t go very far. So, I picked him up and walked out about fifteen yards into the 18″ deep water, dropped him and the watced to see if he would sink or swim.
He swam just fine and made it back to shore. It was pretty funny, he looked like an otter or something. I took him out again a few minutes later and dipped his feet in the water and then picked him back up. He kept his feet paddling, like a motorboat out of water. They say it’s not the best way to teach your dog to swim, but I don’t think Kaiser had such a bad time.

What a great day!
He looks so cute…can’t wait to meet him. Glad you were there just in case he sunk to the bottom!
